LCP, FDA Take “Don’t Eat Bush Meat “Campaign To Gardnersville, Empowers Women, Youth Organizations…

first_imgThe Liberian Crusaders for Peace (LCP), in partnership with the Forestry Development Authority (FDA), has empowered two communities in Gardnersville to help educate and spread the massages of the danger of eating bush meat as it relates to the Ebola virus.The two communities which  benefited from the training and  financial empowerment are the Day Break Mouth Open, and the Town Hall communities.The LCP intervention in the communities was based on recommendations from a group calling itself ‘Gardnersville Youth against Ebola’.The executive director of the Liberia Crusaders for Peace (LCP), Ambassador Juli Endee,  donated a check of LD$ 50,000 to the Gardnersville Youth against Ebola, while LD25,000,  along with some lappas produced by the L.C.P were  also presented to women organizations of the two communities who benefited from the daylong training.During the turning over of the materials to the women and youth organization, Ambassador Endee said,  when the organization got an invitation from the Gardnersville Youth against Ebola, they saw it prudent to carryout sensitization in that part of Liberia.She said, “The 75 thousand, thirty-five buckets, chloral, soap and other items we are giving you today came from our partners. We are working with other organizations who want to see this Ebola out of Liberia.”She told the gathering that the funding and thirty –five pieces of buckets, soap were provided by the Morweh group of company own by Christopher Neyor and other partners.“The Forestry Development Authority (FDA) as one of our partners also provided funding for us to visit communities and give massages that will speak to the mind of Liberians to stop eating bush meat and other activities which will put them into  harms ways” the culture icon said. According to her the nation is faced with a different kind of war and at such every Liberian regardless of sex, religion should join the fight against the killer virus which is calming lives of citizens.“We had our members going into the communities telling residents not to eat bush meat, bats and encouraging them to follow those massages from the Health Ministry, Forestry Development Association and the Liberian government if we are to win the fight against the Ebola virus. We also had people in the hall educating the people to take into consideration good health practices.Speaking additionally, the Liberia culture icon said if Liberia is to win the fight against the virus, they should amalgamate their forces and put aside their personal difference inform health authorities about ill people moving in and out of communities as some of the surest ways to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.The Liberia culture ambassador indicated that it was not time for politicking but for every Liberian to follow those massages to save lives.She said “My people, Ebola is real and it kills.
