Canadian Gold Medals – Day 1

The first medal to be handed out at the Pan Am games was a Gold Medal, and it went to Canada. In fact Canada walked away with four gold medals on Saturday, giving the host nation a very promising first day. First, Michelle Russel, Emilie Fournell, KC Fraser and Hanna Vaugn won Gold in the Flatwater Kayaking 500 meter. Later on, Jacqueline Simoneau and Karine Thomas took Gold in the Duet Synchronized Swimming. That was followed by another Gold, in the Synchronized Swimming Team Free Routine. And finally, Tory Ny-Hog captured Gold in the BMX Men’s Time Trial Super-Final.
